ERROR: nl80211 driver initialization failed


i am following this tutorial to install hostapd. in 'configur hostapd' section, when i run sudo hostapd -d /etc/hostapd/hostapd.conf for testing, it gives following error:

Configuration file: /etc/hostapd/hostapd.conf
ctrl_interface_group=0
nl80211: Could not add multicast membership for scan events: -2 (No such file or directory)
nl80211 driver initialization failed.
rmdir[ctrl_interface]: No such file or directory


my OS is CentOS6.7 with device Network controller: Broadcom Corporation BCM4313 802.11bgn Wireless Network Adapter (rev 01)
i searched google yet could not understand properly what it means like scan events? -2? and how to solve this issue???

Update your kernel or remove multicast configuration from hostapd.
