Error msg

I keep getting "Error 0X10" when LILO tries to boot Linux. I had this same error one other time on a different computer when I tried to boot up Linux and I can not remember what or how i fixed. Any help would be much appreciated.

BTW, I am usiing a duelboot WinXp / Linux.

I have a parttioned 40gb hd and only WinXp and Linux are in the MBR. I am also using Redhat 7.1 Not sure if any of this info helps but I threw it in anyway.

When using XP you should use XP bootloader. XP doesn't like Linux and such a configuration can produce problems. From your error message it looks like Lilo was overwritten by something. If you have a boot disk, use it and install LILO again (lilo command).

I tried the lilo commmand but it says no such image. I think I am gonna try and reinstall it(Linux) one more time. I am using a bootloader so that i have the option of Linux, XP, or the floopy at startup. One other thing, before Lilo starts I also get a msg that says cannot read from harddisk. I really do not understand this given that it is definetly installed. Thanx for the help though. Hope I get this on my comp soon becase I really like using it.

It looks you have bad lilo configuration or XP messed something with bootloaders. I highly recommend to use XP bootloader next time.
