Error Messages During Mandrake 9.2 Install
I'm installing Mandrake 9.2 (and wiping out my old Windows XP) on my laptop and everything is fine except for occasional error messages that always begin with "There was an error installing package: (some package here that always ends with "mdk.1586" such as "t1utils-1.27-1mdk.1586") Go on anyway? Yes or No" and I just click Yes and it continues installing..... Should I have ScanDisk and Defrag before I attempted to install Mandrake? I don't see any option to exit installer so I am just continuing to install as I type......

if your doing a full install it's normal to get a few errors w/ mandrake concerning packages that you don't need. for instance
t1utils-1.27-1mdk.1586 = Programs for manipulating PostScript Type 1 fonts you may or may not need that package. as it has been close to 24 hours since this post, i'll assume everything went well, if not post back. good luck. |
haha, my worst fear happened.... after the installation finished and i restarted, i got an error message that had something to do with my kernel panicking and killing initialization or something, then it just freezes and on my keyboard the caps lock and num lock lights start flashing simultaneously.
