Question Error Message On Boot-Up: "hda_codec: invalid CONNECT_LIST"

As of today I get the following error message on booting my Sabayon 14.01 (Sabayon Linux is a Gentoo derivative):

Code:
...
[   56.797946] hda_codec: invalid CONNECT_LIST verb 5[1]:0 [   56.798049] hda_codec: invalid CONNECT_LIST verb 6[1]:0
[   56.798156] hda_codec: invalid CONNECT_LIST verb 7[1]:0
[   56.798513] input: HDA Intel MID HDMI/DP,pcm=8 as /devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:03.0/sound/card0/input17
[   56.798591] input: HDA Intel MID HDMI/DP,pcm=7 as /devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:03.0/sound/card0/input16
[   56.798642] input: HDA Intel MID HDMI/DP,pcm=3 as /devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:03.0/sound/card0/input15
...
But I have not encountered any hardware issues so far, sound is working.
Kernel modules are loaded:
Code:
$ lsmod | grep codec
snd_hda_codec_hdmi     23825  1
snd_hda_codec_realtek    31480  1
snd_hda_codec         104348  3 snd_hda_codec_realtek,snd_hda_codec_hdmi,snd_hda_intel
snd_hwdep               4582  1 snd_hda_codec
snd_pcm                60103  4 snd_hda_codec_hdmi,snd_hda_codec,snd_hda_intel
snd                    46801  20 snd_hda_codec_realtek,snd_hwdep,snd_timer,snd_hda_codec_hdmi,snd_pcm,snd_hda_codec,snd_hda_intel
Still I find that message somewhat disturbing. Searching on the web for an explanation I found several thread in other forums and the kernel bug list, mentioning the same error message, but these people did have hardware issues, most of them sound related. They also had an Intel CPU of the Haswell line like I have if not the exact same model:

I did not upgrade my kernel recently, in fact I installed the system only exactly one week ago:
Code:
$ uname -r
3.12.0-sabayon
Does anyone have any ideas what might be triggering the error message?
