I installed a package from the CD rom...I read a post on her for fixing AIM installs and it said to do so...but, when i restarted I got an error message saying the time applet couldn't be loaded...my desktop icons are gone, the systray equivilant is gone, and apps keep crashing.
What I do...I'm now using the KDE instead of Gnome...everything is fine again. Perhaps this is the easiet way to hide from the problem, phoneix77.
Im using the kde already, lol, so no hiding.
Moderator, yes, i was messing around with somethings last night like i did the update thingy over the internet plus i was using some game rpm's and was experiencing "dependency hell" and was trying resolve those problems so i could play the games.
I was also trying to download compiler rpm's and load them so i could use all the tar files i have.
I have an e-machines:
533mhz
256mb ram
60gig hdd
cd-burner
cd-rom
floppy
etc. etc. etc.
I use a dual boot system with windows 98 and SuSe 9.1 personal.
The first time i installed SuSe it didnt get my ethernet connection right so i couldnt surf the i-net on linux but the second time i installed SuSe i finally got that problem fixed, so im thinking the best way to resolve this problem is to re-install SuSe.
