error in dns


sir my configuration file for bind-9.3.3.7-el5 is given below my server is up and running but following error is coming.

[root@localhost ~]# hostname
phoenix
[root@localhost ~]# partprobe
[root@localhost ~]# service named start
Starting named: [ OK ]
[root@localhost ~]# chkconfig named on
[root@localhost ~]# service named status
number of zones: 2
debug level: 0
xfers running: 0
xfers deferred: 0
soa queries in progress: 0
query logging is OFF
recursive clients: 0/1000
tcp clients: 0/100
server is up and running
[root@localhost ~]# host -l example.com

when i checked my NIC, following output has come
[root@localhost ~]# ifconfig eth0 157.13.0.1
SIOCSIFADDR: No such device
eth0: unknown interface: No such device

pls help me

For a newbie, I'd just blow away the whole lot, install Webmin and configure via that.

Setting up named is a pain in the rear at the best of times and required perfect syntax to get it running well.

Please add your distro to your profile, so we can see what you've got.
Also, 'eth0: unknown interface: No such device' is the first thing you need to sort out. Its saying you don't have an ethernet card there.
What does
/sbin/ifconfig
