error in dial up connection


i have prob. in kppp program . the errore massage ..
timeout expired while waiting for ppp interface to come up
my comp. is p4 2.8 - 512 RDram- external us robotics serial faxmodum in port dev/tts/0
plz. i need your help i use arabian , knoppex3.8 ,suze , adios and linus xandros all distreputions have the same massage errore after coplete dialup the no. and waiting to log in to network

i face this kind of problem sometimes when there is some heavy load on my ISP

u need to try that with different settings also

also check if u can connect to ur isop from any other system/OS
