Error during ShutDown

Hi everybody!

I noticed recently, that during ShutDown I get the following message...

*Computer will now halt*
halt: Unable to iterate IDE device: no such file or directory

This is the last message, after that my PC is shut down ...
But my Hard Drive (the external one - on which my Ubuntu is installed) keeps spinning, trying hopelessly to read (or write ?) I can hear the HD's heads moving ...

What is going on ?
I know that when Linux starts the termination process (runlevel 0 ?) it starts executing some script files starting with "K" (kill ?) and are located in /etc/initd.d/rc.x directories ... But which one generates this error and how this can be related to the spinning of my HD ?
Some googling I did really didn't help ...

But after all, that is why we are here

P.S. There is no IDE device pluged in my computer. None! Only SATA ones!
Maybe my mobo has IDE controlers ? (Asus M3A)

Best regards
Vas

Common problem it seems, work through some of these.

Could you also give us a copy of
Code:
tail -50 /var/log/dmesg.0
Please
