Error during RHEL 5 installation
 
Hello guys,

I m new to linux. just trying to install linux on my PC. I have booted the PC thru linux CD and selected for graphical installation. It gives me the following message and doesnt proceed further...

Running install...
running /sbin/loader...
disabling IRQ #209...

Please help me...

Need details about your hardware first. Might want to try disabling ACPI (add "noacpi" to the boot line in the installer). You can also try to change SATA mode to "legacy" in your BIOS.

Also, since you have RHEL5, I'd suggest you call RedHat support...since you are paying for it. They'll be able to help.

i tried giving "noacpi" in the boot line. I doesn't work.
H/w details:
ASUS P5KPL-CM motherboard
Intel Pentium dual CPU @ 2 GHz.
1 GB RAM
160Gb Hard disk

Did you try to set SATA to legacy mode, as I mentioned in my first post??? Did you contact RedHat support????

I made the changes to the BIOS, and it worked.
