Error during Installation of Redhat
 

I get a error when installing wandering if anyone has seen this?

"There was an error installing xscreensaver-3.33-4. This can indicate media failure, lack of disk space, and/or hardware problems. This is a fatal error and your install will be aborted. Please verify your media and try your install again."

Its not space problems, media - well I have installed it on other machines before.....hardware I am installing it on a Dell Inspiron and its been on here before?

Any help would be appriceated....Do I need to install the X Window system?

It sounds liek it is having a problem reading from the media. Is it a home burn't CD? Some drives have problems reading them. You could try cleaning the drive and if that oesn't work the burn the cd at a slower rate.

Also you don't nee the X window system it is only there if you want a GUI.

if u have 2 cd/dvd drives, put the install disc into the other drive and try installing...

i had a similar problem installing mandrake 9.1, i just used my secondary dvd drive and it installed fine
