Unhappy Error after downloading updates, wireless connection gone, error code, help

I just downloaded updates, a large amount of them, then during the updates an error code appeared on both my dell inspiron mini 9 netbooks running ubuntu and linux, it states: an error occured the following details are provided: then in the error box it says, E: dpkg was interrupted. you must manually run 'dpkg --configure -a' to correct the problem. then below that line it says, E:_cache->open() failed, please report. I tried running the 'dpkg --configure -a' under the run key but nothing happens. Also, one of the netbooks does not have a wireless connection option anymore after this download..

It also has 6 more updates listed but tells me my disk space is empty. I never installed anything onto this netbook and never had storage issues until these updates. Whenever I go into synaptic package manager the box stays gray and the error box appears with the above error. also, it asks me to report it but to who??

Please help me

Can you clarify how much disk space is available on the minis?

Ubuntu tendency is not to remove old kernels so depending on how many old updates you have it could of filled up the /boot partition if it is separate from /. Since the update was interrupted this might of caused the wireless manager to be "missing".

Ubuntu has a bug tracking system where you can reports errors.
