Question Error 13 at boot

I installed RH 7.3 without error messages, but on my first boot had the following message:
---------------
Booting 'Red Hat Linux (2.4.18-3)'

root (hd0,0)
File system type is ext2fs, partition type 0X83
kernel /vmlinuz-2.4.18-3 ro root=/dev/hda2

Error 13: Invalid or unsupported executable format

Press any key to continue...
---------------
Pressing a key returns to GRUB. Hit enter at GRUB, same Error 13. Using the boot floppy boots up to a login. I installed again, same problem.

Thanks in advance for advice.

In the /boot/grub and /usr/share/grub/i386-redhat directories, do you have a file called e2fs_stage1_5 ?

This file should be in both directories.
