Epson V200 driver for MEPIS 64 bit
I'm not exactly a newbie to LINUX persay. When I worked at Carnegie Mellon University in 1988 I became involved with the pre-release of LINUX. At that time it was at 0.89.... something. I have used shoelace to format an old RLE drive for use with slackware, I've loaded slackware, debian., red hat, suse, mandrake, caldera, ubuntu, as well as various UNIX like OSes such as BSD, MINUX, Solaris, etc. But I've been out of the game for a while. Since the bottom fell out of the IT hardware industry in 2001 and I got laid off for 3+ years I had to go other routes for jobs. Now I am in law enforcement. Anyway I digress, I have a Celeron -D system with 4GB of Ram and 320GB hard drive and I've dual booted MEPIS Linux and another OS that will remain nameless since it has no bearing on the problem I'm running into. I had MEPIS 32bit system loaded and it ran fine, except, i saw some speed lag every once in a while, so I thought I'd try the 64bit version and it seems to run much better, but now I'm having difficulty finding a driver for my Epson V200 scanner. I found a website that claimed Avasys has such a diver, but the link took me to their Japanese website, and though I spent many years in Japan, I can not read Nippon. so I'm stuck, without a driver I don't think I'll be able to use my scanner in MEPIS and I would really like to. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
