epson stylus CX6600

hey - I decided to install linux on my family's computer before I move to college, and I have come across a problem that fr surpasses my knowledge. my family also has an epson stylus cx6600 (fairly new) printer that they will keep, but I do not know how/where to find drivers for it. I have searched a bit, and I looked all over epson, both to no avail. does anyone know what I can do? thanks.

I would start here
http://www.linuxprinting.org/show_pr...-Stylus_CX6400

I know it's for the 6400, but checking it out, it may start pointing you in the right direction.

"Supported with gutenprint-5.0 beta 3 and later; alternatively, you can use the driver for the 6400, as mentioned. Color photos print exceptionally, black and whites are still in progress, because I took a break."

hey - I followed what you posted, installed gutenprint (I think? I cd'd to the directory, did the 'configure' script like they said, then the 'make' script like they said, then the 'make install' script like they said, although I doubt the last command did much, if anything.) regardless, I don't know what to do now. I have checked around for it since following the instructions, but I see nothing new on my comp. furthermore, when I try to print, there's nothing. could anyone clue me in on how I can configure my printer now, or how I can do whatever else I need to do to install the gutenprint? I understand I'm probably the biggest n00b ever, but I'm desperate. thanks.

if the commands completed (didn't throw any errors), the last cmd did something. Do you see the printer?
