Epson printer status stopped

I did a clean install of ubuntu 16.04. had a lot of trouble getting the printer driver to install. Finally managed it via synaptic.
Printer recognised and jobs are queued but status is stopped.
found these errors in driver packages:

Err:21 http://download.ebz.epson.net/dsc/op/stable/debian xenial/main amd64 Packages release file 404 Not Found

source list

deb-src http://security.ubuntu.com/ubuntu xenial-security main restricted
# deb-src http://security.ubuntu.com/ubuntu xenial-security universe
deb http://download.ebz.epson.net/dsc/op/stable/debian/ lsb3.2 main
# deb-src http://security.ubuntu.com/ubuntu xenial-security multiverse Lines 1, 2, & 4 may have nothing to do with the printer

In software/updates
ebz.epson.net/dsc/op/stable/debian/lab3
ebz.epson.net/dsc/op/stable/debian/xenial main
ebz.epson.net/dsc/op/stable/debian/xenial main

A popup box appears: The information about available software is out-of-date:
option to reload. click reload and get
Failed to download repository information

As above there are 3 entries for drivers, 2 for xenial and one lsb3.2

Drivers on my main pc running ubuntu 14.04LTS has only one driver lsb3.2

Is this due to the missing release file if so how do i get it please

is it due to driver conflict 3 drivers??

Can I uninstall the xenial drivers and install the lsb.2 driver
Should I get the most up to date driver from epson.
Am I totally misreading this and the ticked drivers are options rather than installed???

any other help or suggestions to release the jobs to actually print would be much appreciated. Thanks

Please post us what is your printer and printer model. That way it would be easier for us to help.

Are you running an amd64 architecture?

At any rate to make things simple remove /deinstall all XP-205 drivers first. Then choose and re-download the latest printer module *.deb here, and then manually install it. Restart CUPS; open a browser, put URL 127.0.0.1:631 and configure/ select the printer seen by cups. You should find a Print Test Page in those tabs.

If it doesn't print try run the driver binary using "ldconfig", you may need to create link to your standing libraries in the trusted folders /lib or /usr/lib.

Install the printer module/driver first before installing the scanner driver. You can re-download the latest full featured scanning module here.

Hope that helps. Good luck.
