Question Epson C64 Printing in RHat 9 - CUPS

I have tried to install my Epson C64 Printer through CUPS but there doesn't appear to be
a driver and if I select the closest C62 then the printer just spits out paper and doesn't print.

Any Suggestion on how to get this printer working correctly ?

Thanks

try running this

/usr/bin/kaddprinterwizard

worked setting up my cannon printer. I am running Fedora though and am not sure if redhat has this.

Nope tried that and looks quite good but only gives the same choices as CUPS gave
i.e. closest being Epson C62.

Thanks fo rthe suggestion anyway.

Tried a lot of work and it still didn't work ;-)

There was a suggestion to use Giimp-print using CUPS so downloaded all the tars etc and in trying to make-install it gave an error about not finding foomatic stuff to I downloaded and installed foomatic stuff and it still gave the same error - alot of work for a Newbie :-)

Ok, I was having a lot of problems with my C64 but then I finally got it working

First you need to download Gimp-Print 5.0.0-alpha1, GP 4.2.6 also contained a C64 driver but it doesn't work. Now when you run configure use the --without-foomatic option and it should compile fine. Now restart CUPS and use their web based printer manager and you should be able to install it and make it work.

Finally got it working.

Had to do use the ./configure --with-cups --without-foomatic and then it just worked :-)
