ens1371 sound not working
I have a creative sound card (ens1371). When Linux boot ALSA doesn't find any sound card. I compile suport for the card (snd-ens1371) as a module in the kernel. I use modprobe snd-ens1371, it seens to go ok, but just after the module loads I get "Disabling IRQ #5"and I end with no sound....
Anyone can help me? |
Which kernel are you using?
If you use 2.6, alsa should be included in your kernel. (and not as a module) |
Similar problems with Fedora core 2
I am using the 2.6.5 kernel and my audio preferences are strangely reporting a second driver. That particular driver is a set of odd numbers and appears to be active. There is no sound played. The first sound driver is the Ensoniq by ALSA. Any tips as to how to remove the second "phantom" audio device?

Try using modconf to unload it.
