Enable sound at runlevel 1?

Hi,

I have two questions, how can i enable sound at runlevel 1 on my ubuntu system and how can i run a command as soon as the system is up. I am trying to make an mp3 player that executes mpg123 from runlevel1 as soon as its started without any interaction from a user.

Thanks

Newbee's suggestion:
try man chkconfig you will get the syntax to change run levels.
Your other question, asked many times and there are
more than one answer, google about rc.local?, for example,
or look for tutorials. If you do not find anything I will try to post a link

Thanks Emmanuel_uk, Debian/ubuntu does not have chkconfig however it has its own tool called sysv-rc-conf. I used that to start alsa at runlevel 1. So there's one problem solved I was playing around with the files in the rc1.local. So far I cant launch mpg123 automatically. Will do a little more research on it.

Thanks again

Talking How do I start programs at boot?

You are welcome.
Now then as you say you were doing some research,
please let us know if you find a good FAQ/ tips about
starting programs at boot (I am sure you will. Please post it here.)
Did you look in the wiki?

I do a gesture ;-) here is what I found when I was a newbee
(still am one) about program start at boot:
http://mandrivausers.org/index.php?showtopic=5084

There must be other tutorials out there...
Maybe even in linuxquestions, if not, well this
could be a good collection of links for others
