Enable pop3 (110) protocal in RHEL 3 ?
 
Dear Friends ,

In RHEL 4 , I can configure pop3 protocal or 110 port (for mail purpose) using dovecot .

But in RHEL 3 , I cannot find dovecot protocal . Can anybody plz tell me how can I enable 110 (or pop3 protocol) in Redhat Enterprise in Linux ?

Plz help ... ...

After doing a little google research, I conclude that Dovecot was introduced in RHEL 4. Before that, RedHat used Postfix.

Do some research in re postfix; there is a lot of it to be found. Also, in your main menu, look for Internet, then network devices or network services to set up your pop3. Also look for RH documentation on your computer. It may have been installed as part of the default installation.

RHEL 3 is no longer supported as of 2006. It's time to upgrade. Look into replacing it with Fedora or CentOS.
