Emptying the recycle bin

Hi all

I am trying to empty my now HUGE Trash Can, but I cant do it. Right Click>Empty leads to numerous errors about 'Permission Denied'.

I can empty it logged in as Root but thats really impracticle, and I am sure there is an easier way! Perhaps command line? A few mods to a config file?

Thanks all

Hong

I looked at that already. Apparently (so it says) I am the owner and group owner. Read, Write and Execute is anabled for all users except it is greyed out.

???

Thanks

Try from the command line:

cd /home/username/trash

and try deleting things by hand with the rm command (be careful, rm won't ask for confirmation unless you use the -i option). This should help you figure out what the problem is.

I found that I can delete stuff with File Manager if I navigate to the Trash dir manually, and then just hitting the delete key. I guess that'll do, but I would still be interesting in why it isnt working the way its supposed to
