Is there a reason that you used -u with a package name, and you've installed both the source and bin versions?

I would:
Code:
emerge -C mozilla-firefox mozilla-firefox-bin
emerge mozilla-firefox
OR, if you desire -bin:
Code:
emerge -C mozilla-firefox mozilla-firefox-bin
emerge mozilla-firefox-bin

Just a little bit of elaboration.

With mozilla-firefox you build it from source, which takes quite some time.
With mozilla-firefox-bin, you get the pre-compiled package.
