Question email application with account filtering - Such a thing?

Perhaps I have it right in front of me, but I cant seem to find it.. I am in the process of making SuSe 9.0 Pro My Main Desktop OS. This will help me learn it at a fast pace. (or so I hope :P)

I check 15 or so pop3 accounts from various customers I am working for at a time. When using outlook express I set a message rule that stated..

if mail from "Clove@Linuxquestions" account, move message to Clove@LinuxQuestions Folder.

For every pop3 account I have I have a rule for it. I have tired kMail, Evolution, and the Mozilla one.

Does anyone have any Ideas on getting Evolution to work this way, or have any pointers for me?

It seems that the above programs use "filters" but they only filter on TO: field and such, so list serve, and spam never hits the rules... Know what I mean?

any help would be awsome!

Could you elaborate on what you're trying to do?

I have my Mozilla mail client set up to send all the forum responses I get mailed to me to a subfolder of my inbox, if that's the kind of thing you're looking for.

The filters I find dont work that great..

lets say I make a Filter, that says If Reciepent = clove@123.com move to clove@123.com folder.. for the most part it works..

however Spam, listservs and other lists arent marked to: clove@123.com they could be marked reciepents@paidlist.com they just go into the inbox..

I Could chase all the various names, but there will be too many...

Heres an example:

lets say I have 5 pop3 accounts. I then (in outlook express) setup 5 rules.

Rules:
If Mail From Account clove@domain1.com move to Domain1 Folder
If Mail From Account clove@domain2.com move to Domain2 Folder
If Mail From Account clove@domain3.com move to Domain3 Folder
If Mail From Account clove@domain4.com move to Domain4 Folder
If Mail From Account clove@domain5.com move to Domain5 Folder

Some of these, like domain3.com I have a catch all going there, so I could get 30 different to:'s per day..

Perhaps filters are the way to go, I just find that they only work if you are directly in the to:

// This is an exact rule from my outlook express client //
Apply this rule after the message arrives
Where the message is from the *@ineedfreebies.com account
Move it to the *@Ineedfreebies.com folder

The point here is that no mater who its to: if it comes through on that account it will go into the proper folder and not the root inbox

In evolution you could create a new filter
[Sender] [Ends With] "ineedfreebies.com"

[Move To Folder] "Your Folder Name"

Tell me if im this is correct, I think this is what you were asking...

Ok on that logic..

[Reciepent] [Ends With] "ineedfreebies.com"

[Move To Folder] "Your Folder Name"

(I am looking to sort inbounds)

When a mail from the ineedfreebies.com domain comes from someone who sends to a list serv

to: members-list@whatever.com

that rule gets ignored...

If there was a tag for account, i wouldnt have any issues... like..

[Account] "ineedfreebies.com"

[Move To Folder] "Your Folder Name"

Thanks For the idea though..
