email aliase

Hi all,

Here is the scenario......

There is an email aliase say abc@xyz.com which referrs to 2 email address as:

mno@xyz.com and pqr@xyz.com

Now, if someone send mail to this alias mail will be send to both the address mno@xyz.com and pqr@xyz.com.

Let's say I don't know which are the mail address included in this alias.

Is there a way to know the same (expanding the email alias).

Thanks,
sir-com

this really makes very little sense. where are you doing this from? what smtp service is this? Is this even smtp? where do you expect to see this information?

Assuming you are using Sendmail, Postfix, etc. You are right. The mail to abc will be delivered to mno and pqr. You will be able to tell which in the mail client of mno or pqr by looking at the "To:" line.
