How can the email be set up so you know you have new mail in the inbox, without having to press send/recieve.

With Evolution email dose the inbox have a automatic setting to tell you that mail has arrived without having to press the icon receive/send.

Try the following:

Edit->Preferences->Mail Accounts

Select the mail account

Click Edit button on the right side

Click Tab "Receiving options"

Check "Automatically check for new mails every " below the heading Checking for new and mail and set the time

Now send yourself a mail and see if it gets automatically notified after the pre-set amount of time?
