(EE) No devices found


I've installed source mage but when i do startx,it just comes up wit
(EE) no devices found

Fatal server error:
no screens found

fatal error 104

i think this has got 2 do wit my mouse but i have tryed 3 different mouses and they all hav the same problem

when i type XFree86 -configure it just says no mouse detected

well, what types of mice did you try? USB, PS/2, serial? Which kernel do you use? Which distro? Does the mouse work with "gpm"?

I've installed with a screwed mouse before, and that didn't stop X from comming up. Could you post your /etc/X11/XF86Config?

my xf86config is just the /usr/lib/X11/XF86Config.eg renamed

Ah. Try running /usr/X11R6/bin/xf86config and feeding it what it asks for. Make sure you give it the correct information, though. Especially your hsync and vsync.
