Editing "Main Menu" in Debian. Can't change.

I've just installed Debian 8 with Gnome and I can't change the icons that appear in my desktop. I had some problems with my old Wheezy 7.8 but now, with Jessie, is imposible.

When I select Main Menu one Window is opened but when I make a change this change is lost when I close the Window and always I see the same icons in Desktop.

Can anybody help me?

Thanks

Jessie is only a week old... that doesnt fix the problem, but its a
good excuse for why it might happen

possibly, you upgraded to Jessie, rather than did a clean install ?
If thats the case, you may need to upgrade the system.

there is a bug report, here >> https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugr...cgi?bug=720604

which may explain the problem youre having

Thank you for your answer. Now I have to read all the information and test the solutions.

I think before (in Wheezy) I had also the problem but there were few icons or something like this but is now when I tried to reorganize my desktop.

I'll tell you what I get.

Missing info in gnome3, even in /

When I noticed the problem it was suggested to create the file, which I never did.
If you have a squezze system you could look at that file & create for your system.
