Question Editing Indicator 'internet' plugn menu on XFCE desktop

I've done a search on similar threads, and the last time someone posted this question there were no responses but I can't believe someone doesn't know the answer!

I'm running Xubuntu (xfce 4.8) and a few of the internet related apps haven't been added automatically to the internet indicator plugin on the top statusbar. This seemed to happen automatically in Ubuntu, but not in Xubuntu. Could anyone tell me how to do this, as I've searched all the different menu files and (probably due to my rubbish searching) can't find which config file to edit to add in things like 'Transmission' and 'Turpial' to the menu.

Thanks.

You can add applications to the menu, if that's any help, by getting the Alacarte menu editor. I thought the indicator plugins were just informative?

No, if I right-click on the envelope icon it says 'Indicator' at the top, so I'm assuming they're all indicator plugins (mail, wireless, sound etc)..
