Easy Gnome Icon Problem

I have just completed a full upgrade to slack-current, but have the following problem with gnome. Note that gnome was not installed in my original installation, but installed at a later date with swaret. Do you have any simple ideas for Gnome to be able to find all my icons?

Error messages are .................................................

Failed to load image gnome-terminal.png

sounds to me like you havent installed gdk-pixbuf (which is the package that provides libpixbufloader-png.so)

is this the case ?

No. I just checked and I have the folder:

/usr/lib/gdk-pixbuf/loaders

There are heaps of files in there - so I assume this is installed correctly?

Any other ideas. I am not really sure where to start apart from running swaret with some other options.

I tried installing new gnome themes, but the problem is more than just that

Thanks for your help.

All I have is: **/gtk-2.0/2.2.0/loaders and the following files:
io-wmf.so
io-wmf.la
svg_loader.ao
svg_loader.la
svg_loader.a

However in: **/gtk-2.0/2.4.0/loaders , I have plenty of libpixbufloader files such as the one that you suggested ***-png.so as well as **-jpeg.la **-jpeg.so **-wbmp.la etc etc etc.

sweet... so there is the problem and solution....

"/usr/lib/gtk-2.0/2.2.0/loaders/libpixbufloader-png.so"
isnt there....

when a program complains that a file is missing, the firsat thing you should do is make sure its correct... in this case it iss, the file realy isnt there. so the solution is obviouse....

install the missing file.

rpmfind.net is a good place to start.
