Easy ADSL Hardware

If you have had a simple experience with your ADSL hardware, could you please suggest your recommendation.

From what I have learnt an ethernet connected adsl modem is the way to go. What brand/model? Available in Australia.

Thanks.

The best method would be just to ask the the ISP which brand is compatable with their service.

I use a Conexant ADSL PPPoA modem with BT in the UK and it works fine (http://www.purplepixie.org/dave/archive/adsl-howto) with Kernel 2.4.18 or around-a-bouts. There are apparently later series drivers but I haven't used them.

Does your ISP use PPPoE then?? I didn't think you could choose which protocol you used, the carrier specified it??

Cheers,

Dave.
