Easiest way converting cp1252 into utf8?

Hi!

I ripped some music from CDs using Windows' CDex. Then I moved those mp3-files into my ext3 hard drive. Now my terminals replace scandinavian letters (a&o with diaeresis) with "replace character" (question mark with white backrgound).

What would be the best way to convert these file names into utf8 still having a and o with diaeresis shown properly? I really CBA to manually do it this time. Last time convmv broke totally filenames containing scandinavian letters. Maybe I had wrong from-charset (tried both iso-8859-1 and iso-8859-15).

So, ... thanks

There's a program called convmv that says it will convert file names to different encodings. I haven't yet used it myself, however; I found it with a quick apt search.

Doh!, I missed your mention of it. Sorry. Never mind.
