Dvorak in X on Slackware 13.37

Hi, I've already hunted through the forums for an answer, but as far as I can see, what I've done should work. It certainly worked on Slack 13.0, but I'm running 13.37 now. I'm trying to change my keyboard layout to Dvorak for fluxbox. Here's what I've done:

Code:
su -c "cp -iv /usr/share/hal/fdi/policy/10osvendor/10-keymap.fdi /etc/hal/fdi/policy/"

su -c "vi /etc/hal/fdi/policy/10-keymap.fdi"
I changed
Code:
<merge key="input.xkb.variant" type="string" />
to
Code:
<merge key="input.xkb.variant" type="string">dvorak</merge>
Then:

Code:
su -c "/etc/rc.d/rc.hald restart"
But flux is still typing QWERTY.

Thanks!

Referring to "Changes and Hints" ftp://sunsite.informatik.rwth-aachen..._AND_HINTS.TXT you'll have to copy the /usr/share/X11/xorg.conf.d/90-keyboard-layout.conf file into the /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/ directory.

In this file you can change the settings and then restart hal with
Code:
/etc/rc.d/rc.hald restart
as root.

Thanks, Markus! I'll remember to read that file each time I upgrade my version. Can't say that I would have expected that to be the solution, even if I had read that file, though.

In any case, it worked, thanks!
