Question DVD+RW problem

Hi everybody,
I use k3b to backup my files into DVD (data DVD). The process finished smoothly and no error occured.
However, when I put it back into my DVD drive, gnome recognizes it as a CD-ROM with no content in it.
In Windows XP, I can browse this DVD without any problem. So, I think the problem is that I didn't configure gnome correctly.
Can anybody help? I've tried to search, but couldn't find a solution. If the solution is already posted, please throw me the link.
BTW, is there any tutorial for k3b? I am a little bit confused on how to make a DVD. (writing modes and the options in advanced tab)

Thanks for your help.

Are you sure the disk is mounted? Try
mount /mnt/dvd
or similar (depending on the name of your dvd drive). Empty directory usually means the drive is not mounted.

Thanks for your reply, Mara.

The drive seems to be properly mounted.
I can browse the content by switching to /media/cdrecorder in the command line or via the file browser [Computer (on the desktop) -> Filesystem -> media -> cdrecorder].
However, if I just double click the CD-ROM Disc on the desktop or go throught Computer -> CD-RW/DVD+-R Drive: CD-ROM Disc, it shows nothing in the DVD.

It's good that I can at least see the content of the DVD now. But it is always better to save some
clicks to get to the content. Please help me if you've figured this out. Thanks.

It looks that the icon points to the wrong drive. Do you have more than one? Right click on the desktop icon, choose Preferences and see what you have in Location field. It should be /media/cdrecorder or be related to your DVD drive (/dev/hdc or similar - first column in /etc/fstab).

If it's something completely wrong, just create a new link. Righ click on the desktop, Create new->Device->CD Recorder. Give it a nice name and switch to Device tab. Choose (or type in) the device name related to /media/cdrecorder and accept it all.

Hi Mara,
I only have one drive, which is hdc, and I can't find preference after right clicking the icon.
The icon is dynamically created by gnome when I put that DVD in and it disappears when the drive is empty.
So, I don't really know how to change the preference.

Anybody has any idea to solve this problem? Thanks a lot.
