if you want a good DVD ripper with a complete walkthrough including all the needed files/libraries/encoders/decoders, checkout:

i will be posting a python shell script soon that does it all for you. this has no gui, and increases the ripping speed. the only thing is, the final video mpeg is around 1 or 2 gigabytes, but you have superb video/audio quality and can easily be burned to a dvd-r for watching on a dvd player.

NOTE: THIS IS FOR EDUCATIONAL AND PRIVATE USE ONLY. PLEASE DO NOT MISUSE THIS RESOURCE.
