DVD mount


Hi there,
iam using Mandrake linux 9.1. I do have a dvd drive, but unfortunately when i try to play a dvd movie it does not do anything. it works fine when i put cds, but not dvds. the drive as a hardware is allright, as it works perfect under mandrake 9, and not under 9.1. could someone help me???

Do you have Mplayer or Xine installed?? Is there a device named dvd in /dev?? Sorry, but we need more info.

Hi thanks for the reply. I had both of the above programs. every time i was pressing the play button i was getting a crash in the kde, and i had to log off and log on. now i do have a clean installation with only xine. the same is happening. i am awaiting instructions.

so if you uninstall xine, and reinstall mplayer and run "mplayer -dvd 1" or such like, what happens? show us the console output
