dvd access problem in SuSE10.2

Hi all,
i am not able to access dvd in my system with SuSE10.2.
I tried with FC6 aswell but the problem was same. I have disabled the firewall setting and in FC6 i also disabled SElinux...but nothing worked for me.
yeh it is dvd rom. I am not playing around with cdrom.
Now i was trying to install guest OS on top of SuSE10.2 but i got the error message saying source file can not be accessed. And i am trying to eject the Guest OS cd and getting error that i cant eject...no rights.
I am logged in as a root, still i am having permission problems. How to get rid of it friends...
Any ideas...
