Not having to worry about dependencies in linux is simply wishful thinking...However, I was able to install ogle without any problems. Go to their website at http://www.dtek.chalmers.se/groups/dvd/
And follow their faq for installation and we'll go from there!

I'd personally just go thru the small hassle and install mplayer. Its the best player out there and even though its a little harder than most to get going, at least for newbies, its well worth it.

Get your hands on a utility called apt and Synaptic...Once you get it installed, it should make installing MPlayer and all the dependencies fairly automatically. First you need to get apt - it's a utility that takes care of dependencies for you - what else it does, or any other specifics about it is currently beyond my grasp...you can find it here:

http://apt.freshrpms.net/

Somewhere on that same site you can find Synaptic, which is just a gui front-end for apt. If you're new to Linux like me, it's a handy thing to have.
