duo core AMD cpu,how to force to use 1 core ??

ok, perhaps not good discribed.

i haverented a dedicated machine ,64 bit duo core AMD machine.
on off our game is always lagging, every 2 sec a ping spike of 2000

i have the idea that the machine is configed to use both CPU at any condition.

is there a way to force programs to use only one cpu core ???
thnxs..

So from your post I gather you are using the server as a Dedicated Gaming host for some particular game ?
Unless the Game is written to support multiple threads it would essentially be running on a single CPU already..

Have you looked at top or htop to see if there is some other process running that is causing the spike you are seeing ?
both top and htop will also allow you to turn on a column that will show which CPU a process is running on..

no unusaual thing to see...
the game is, Unreal tournament 99, it is the only that gives the problem.
All the Call of duty games work normaly.
i even quit all other games for testing..

i was thinking of running them under vmware player, but as usual, its all console, i dont know it vmware player runs on that.
ohwel...

thnxs for the advices..
