[SOLVED] Dualboot on 2 hardisks. (windows + linux)

Ok, I have been searching in Google but I am completely Confused.

So this is what I want to do. I have 2 Hard-disks in my computer (HD1 & HD2).

"HD 1" has Windows 7. I want to keep Win7.

"HD 2" is completely empty, I wish to install Linux on that (preferably Chakra Gnu/Linux).

Hello.

On the whole when you install some Linux distro, it will install a boot loader too (GRUB or LILO normally) which permits to boot different operating systems, in your case Windows 7 and Chakra GNU/Linux.

Surely you will not have to do anything to configure your boot loader, in most cases the installation looks for other o.s. and add them. On the other if you do not see Windows once you have installed GNU/Linux, you can modify the boot loader and add it manually.

The installation instructions for Chakra don't look all that newbie friendly to me -- not hard by any means but perhaps not as straightforward as something like Ubuntu. That said if you read them then you will learn important concepts like partitions which you may not learn with an easier installer.
The instructions at http://chakra-linux.org/wiki/index.php/Installation should tell you all you need to know about dual booting with Windows and they even mention using two drives in their documentation.

More details on your intentions would help someone to help you.

Do you want windows 7 with its' bootloader on one drive, Chakra with its' bootloader on the master boot record of the other drive so that you need to select which drive to boot in the BIOS? In that case the simplest thing would be to unplug the windows drive before installing Chakra to the other drive.

There are numerous variables as to how this can be set up so, without knowing your intentions on how you want this set up, it's pretty difficult to give detailed information.

Sorry I forgot to mention. I want to install Chakra on "HD 2", I just wanted to know, if this is possible and it's steps. I found this page Here This explains everything that I want to do. Thanks everyone for help. Btw I Found it easy to understand and I don't mind using CLI (Used it many times before, infact I have an arch Install on my Laptop).
