Dual Boot Windows 10 and Linux Mint 17.2 Cinnamon?

My wife decided that it would be a good idea to upgrade her dual boot computer online from Windows 7 professional to Windows 10 professional. The process is half way through and have just been informed, probably too late to stop the install. How will this affect her dual booting into Mint? If this Windows install busts the ability to dual boot, can it be fixed?

I think I am going to need some expert insight and guidance.
Any help will be appreciated.

gael.

If Windows update will corrupt your dual boot, boot into live mint system (dvd or usb), open a terminal and enter:
Quote:
sudo grub-install /dev/sdX
sudo update-grub
sdX stands for your hard drive

Windows 7 used MBR to boot by default, windows 10 uses UEFI. I'm not sure if this will change during an upgrade but whichever case it will limit you to booting windows. The method suggested above should work if it is MBR.

Well, she managed to upgrade from Windows 7 to Windows 10 apparently without a hitch.
She still has the Grub menu, can boot into Linux Mint 17.2 or into Windows 10.
The only thing she needs to do now is make Windows 10 as secure as possible ... I guess that's another thread!

Thanks guys for your replies.

gael.
