Question dual boot win XP + suse 10.2 problem bootloader


i installed suse 10.2 on my IBM laptop and the bootloader wasnt installed on default for windows.i cudnt find the windows name in the grub.

my fdisk -l output is


Disk /dev/hda: 80.0 GB, 80026361856 bytes
240 heads, 63 sectors/track, 10337 cylinders
Units = cylinders of 15120 * 512 = 7741440 bytes

i tried

title windows
rootnoverify (hd0,4)
makeactive
chainloader (hd0,4)+1

in /boot/grub/men.lst file



but coudnt work it out.......plz help....

The stanza above in Grub's menu.lst will be trying to boot hda5 which is a logical partition in your extended partition. Windows won't boot from an extended partition unless there is another windows primary partition. What do you have on sda3 and sda4, they are both ntfs?

yeah...sda3 and sda4 are both ntfs...

i have my windows installed on hda5..i can c my windows drive from suse labled as hda5.....

i dont know whether windows is on a primary or extended partition.

wat am i supposed to do now?

If windows was installed first than in my opinion windows is on hda1
