Introduction to Linux - A Hands on Guide
This guide was created as an overview of the Linux Operating System, geared toward new users as an exploration tour and getting started guide, with exercises at the end of each chapter.
For more advanced trainees it can be a desktop reference, and a collection of the base knowledge needed to proceed with system and network administration. This book contains many real life examples derived from the author's experience as a Linux system and network administrator, trainer and consultant. They hope these examples will help you to get a better understanding of the Linux system and that you feel encouraged to try out things on your own.

ok Ive been messin about with debian for 3 weeks on my spare drive I was able to get it running pretty good and configured how I want ( still seems sluggish though) so I decided to go ahead and debian on my main 20 gig drive to co-exist with wxp..shrink windows part down to 3 gig....15.5 for linux ext3 the rest for swap.....done with pq magic...install debian sarge..install grub..all appears to be good..reboot wxp on list in grub ..select wxp..phfffttt no good xp says cant find automnt 2002 and zip reboot..ok try agian samething ok ..boot linux no prob although I cant see my windows partition yes I added ntfs mod...ok try recovery console on xp cd..
xp says that my wxp partition is os2/warp and wont do anything with it but delete..nope not gonna do that yet...boot knoppix cd, knoppix sees wxp partition and says it fine and that its ntfs...hmmmm...reboot ..fire up qt parted it also says wxp partition is ntfs...ok try wxp again
nope wxp cd still says that the xp partition is os/2...ok remove drive and try in my other xp box
that box recognizes the drive but wont let me access it I bring up the admin tools and look at the partitions and it shows as ntfs with a healthy partition..any ideas as to what going on?
