Dual boot (SuSE & XP), Safe Mode

I have a dual boot IBM T40. I'm running SuSE 9.0 Pro and WinXP Pro. Unfortunately, I have to keep the Windows for school. Predictably I'm having some virus problems in the XP . I need to enter the Safe Mode for XP, but can't figure out how. When My computer starts I get a blue screen with options for LINUX, WINDOWS, FAILSAFE (for the SuSE). But once I select the WinXP I can't get into safe.

Any suggestions? I'm sure it's simple.

During the windows boot, hold down the left shift key and that should boot you into save mode. I think you can also hit F5 or F7 during the initial boot and it should do the same thing. Good Luck,

I believe if you hold F8 after you choose Windows it should bring up the Windows boot options (I think F4 us straight to safe mode)
