Dual boot gNewsense and Slackware13.7

Hi,

I want to install gNewsense and Slackware for dual boot. I install gNewsense in /dev/sda2, and install Slackware in /dev/sda3, they all use /dev/sda1 for swap partition.

My question is: I install gNewsense first, and install the grub, then I installed Slackware and didn't install the LILO. But now, I can't boot Slackware, modified the /boot/grub/menu.lst file to add the slackware menu, but it doesn't work.

Who tell me why, and how to write the right section in menu.lst file.

Post the contents of your menu.lst file for starters, also what kernel your Slackware has installed.

It would have probably been better had you allowed Slackware to install lilo to the root of sda3, that way you could have simply added

title Slackware
root (hd0,2)
chainloader +1

Try this entry.

title Slackware
root (hd0,2)
kernel (hd0,2)/boot/vmlinuz BOOT_IMAGE=linux root=/dev/sda3
