Dry Run of Ubuntu Installation

This is what I am about to do. Please correct if I am wrong.

1. Set Boot priority to see empty hard drive first.

2. Put Ubuntu CD in reader and boot.

3. Install Ubuntu to empty Hard Drive.

4. Install grub in the other hard drive that has Vista.

5. Finished.

Please comment

you set boot priority to boot from CD. set it to the ubuntu drive after the install. also, you might as well completely disable/disconnect the vista drive during the install, just in case. and why would you install grub on the vista drive?

Dry Run

Thanks
I take it for granted to boot first from the DVD drive.
Then my questions begin. Someone advised me that I must install the GRUB in the Vista hard drive. I am still a little confused.
