driving game?
Is there a free, real stye driving game for linux (ubuntu), along the lines of grand tourismo?

You might want to check out Torcs.
|
It's funny that you should ask that. I discovered torcs earlier this week. For open source work, it's AMAZING. I've seen better graphics (though the graphics are still great) but for the price tag, you can't beat it.

Just went to gran turismo site to check out the screenshots. Amazing . Can't think of any race sim native to linux to match those graphics. And, yes, in fact I do live in a cave.
The best I've found; VDrift http://www.vdrift.net/ This one will be great. Already very playable. racer http://www.racer.nl/ The one I recommend. The last I tried torcs (1 or 2 years ago?) it couldn't match either of the above in the physics department. Maybe no longer true? |
lol yeh,
and if you want somthing less realistic you can allways rely on supertuxkart as a stress reliver! :sarcastic: |

Still a fan of Grand Prix Legends with the updates and play it with wine now and then. Never owned a playstation/xbox. |
i was being sarcastic about suggesting
supertaukart, |
Torcs and racer look awesome. I suppose it'll come down to playability now.
Thanks for the replies, |
The only racing game I play now is Flatout. I got it from a Gamestar Magazine CD. Not free, but a lot of fun. More destruction Derbie than GT though. Runs with Cedega.
And I still enjoy Stunts http://www.abandonia.com/genre.php?search=stunts - runs in dosbox. Warsow also has a racing mode. |
