Drivers: modem and printer

We have just installed Red Hat in our new computer. We have a USR modem and Lexmark printer, but have not been successful in obtaining drivers and, thus, neither work. Is there a handy source to overcome these difficulties.

They both can work.
Google them or give some more info about both the printer(+scanner?) and modem.

The printer is a Lexmark X2250 USB printer.

The modem is a US Robotics 56K V.92 Internal Faxmodem.

You might try looking at http://www.linuxprinting.org but a quick glance looks a bit grim. Possibly your printer has support elsewhere though.

As for modems. Well try google. External modems are the best bet (though expensive).

Good luck.

I have learned, being a newbie, that External modems are the best. I ended up, after two days of trying to figure out my internal (which is supposedly compatiable-- IF you have access to the drivers, or know how to build modules, and such) , purchasing a Zoom External Serial Modem, and had it up and going within a few minutes! ( Cost $60.00 @Staples. )
The printer situation- have had a little experience with that as well, if you can find out what type of driver your printer uses, you may be able to substitue from the available list. I had to subsitute a HP deskjet 3320 (hpijs) for my HP deskjet 3520 (hpijs), and adjust the dpi, I do not know if it will work for lexmarks or not.

You might try here for a driver...cant say that it will enable all functions of the modem or even work....
