I am trying to install a wireless network card. Here are the list of files for the driver. The card uses the realtek 8180 chipset. Thanks in advance for all of your help.

OK after experimenting using the Readme, and Make file mentioned above I ran the following comand with no success:

insmod -F rtl8180_24x

also I tried to us the make fille to load my own driver, but cant seem to get that to work either.

How do I find the include path, and the install path for Fedora? Also how do I find out what kernel version I have? I ran uname -r and got the following:

2.4.22-1.2115.nptl

Do I include all of this information as the kernel version? The examples from Redhat 8/9 seem to stop after the -1.

I am sorry if any of this sounds dumb, I have only been experimenting with linux for about a week now. so far this is the only thing that I am having trouble with.

Thanks

Ok I tried using the drive loader availible at www.linuxant.com, and now I can get linux to see the card. I even get the status lights on the card to blink before I get an error message about eth1 having an incorrect set mode. I will post the error message later today. Does anyone know if this is a common problem with the Realtek 8180 chipset?

OK this is the error I get when trying to use the www.Linuxant.com driverloader

Error for Wireless request "Set Mode" (8B06

Does anyone know what steps I might take to attempt to correct this?

After playing with the Driverloader for a while I got it to work. If you have the Ashton Digital card DO NOT use the driver that came on the CD with the card. Go to realtek and download the newest version from here http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads/...yword=rtl8180. If you are still having trouble getting the drivers send me an email at odin@gladshiem.com and I will email you the files I used to get my card running.
