Driver for hp deskjet 3940, F2480

I'm trying to install my printers hpdeskjet 3940 and F2480 in fedora 14. I've gone to hp web and it sends me to download HPLIP:http://hplipopensource.com/hplip-web...ard/index.html
The version of fedora I can choose goes from 1 to 12. Can I use the driver for fedora 12 in my fedora 14?

In the end, I did "yum install hplip" and it worked, but I still would like if someone could answer me. With ns-2.30 it was possible to install nam and xgraph individually and you could use packages that were from ns-2.34 version, as nam 1.14
Would I have to use a patch?

I think that pretty much all printer drivers are handled via CUPS. I've had a number of HP printers, and as long as a recent hplip was installed, everything pretty much worked. Is there some particular reason why you had to go to HP to get this printer running?

Because I thought I had install via yum the printers correctly, but when I try to edit files .tcl and print them, it only lets me print to a file with pdf or other formats. It doesn't give me the option to print in paper. I was trying to find a solution.
Can you help me, please?

If you set up the print in CUPS (point your browser to http://localhost:631) it should work. That will also allow you to test the printing. I'm not very familiar with Fedora, so there may be an administrator GUI that allows you to do essentially the same thing.
