Downloading using rpm

Hi all.

I know we can download from http or ftp via wget. But as i am progressing with linux, i have seen various examples where i have seen something similar to

rpm -Uvh http://******

I tried doing it like this

[root@localhost new]# rpm -Uvh http://sourceforge.net/projects/dyna...h.rpm/download
Retrieving http://sourceforge.net/projects/dyna...h.rpm/download
error: skipping http://sourceforge.net/projects/dyna...h.rpm/download - transfer failed - Unknown or unexpected error
[root@localhost new]#

When i did the same with wget, file downloaded successfully. Can someone tell me where i am wrong ? just want to clear my concepts :-) so pls help me out
