Downloading Linux software to Windows.
I have just completed installing slackware 9.1 ... my first linux install. I have a question about downloading software and installing it on my new linux box.
I can download software using our T1 line at work, however I have to download it to a windows system there. My question is: how do I then create a CD with whatever I downloaded and install it on my slackware box ... or where can I look for advice on this. I am currently trying to download a linux version of eclipse. This just gets downloaded as a zip file. So, I'm assuming that I just need a CD which I can mount and read on the linux side in order to unzip it and use it. One other note: I do not have a windows partition on this box. Thanks for any help! Mike Witt |
You got it. Burn it to CD, bring it home, mount the CD and use it.

So what you're saying is that this question is just a big old "Duh!"? I guess I'm thinking of my SCO days when you needed to use a dos read command to read from a dos formatted floppy.
I'll try it ... thanks for your help. Mike |
